Still not optimized, but world record nonetheless! 00:52:824

Finally!! I managed to beat my PB and got this amazing run, sub 53 is possible but sub 52 is a stretch imo. 00:53:190

New world record, 00:54.656. I don't think I will beat this by much unless I find another strat or glitch, but good luck to you HexaBit!

Well, that seems to be a really optimized run - again, the triple-pole jump precision was nice! =)

I have got to say, I love speedrunning and this game is just absolutely perfect for speedrunning. It's really easy to mess up a 2d platformer for speedrunning but Blót works great :).

So how does this work now? Is the runs with the jumpglitch the best times or no jumpglitch the best times?

And here you go, world first sub minute. With the new jumpglitch you can do some insane stuff if you get the timing down...

It's 57.073 if it's hard to see btw

Thanks guys - as I wrote in one of the YouTube comments, this is super valuable to me so I really appreciate all these efforts of breaking the speed record to finding glitches. I will definitely host similar events in future Ludum Dares and also when I do games outside of LD. Keep it up, and it feels like sub-1-minute is coming soon with that big mega jump glitch.

Sure will, uploading right now ;)

Here's the run I was talking about, though I'll have to use the new glitch to improve it!

This was soooo optimized before the jumpglitch :(, no worries though, I'll get it with the glitch too xD.

Yes, I agree - this run was impressive! The jump glitch is too easy to exploit =) but I suppose you can still compete to optimize with jump glitch too.

Really nice glitch find, I'll try this strat aswell to beat yours!

I've got a run that's better than my last one, I'll try to get it up asap. I'm not home atm...

Nice, looking forward to it!

Great run - thanks for sharing. I have updated the leaderboard. I see that there is still time to shave off but the log timing was nice which is rewarding!

This is one of the most impressive games I've seen submitted to compos. The sounds, the effects, the setting, it's so very atmospheric. And it also gets quite challenging at times.

Some of the jumping was finicky, though. It's very easy to die in specific spots because the jumpings can get very tricky, but that actually felt so good with the setting of the game. As in, the rain, clouds and thunder did make it feel like an urgency. Stopping to chop wood only added to it.

There's a lot of greatness to be found in Blót. [My team](discord.whalesandgames.com) are going to love it when they get a chance to play it. Keep up the good work, and, again, excellent compo entry!

Thanks, I appreciate the kind comments! I had missed to reply to this post, but I did join your discord for a chat and I like the game you submitted too =)

Nice game! I like the atmosphere / art style. There is one thing that I didn't like was the "win" animation at the end of each "stage". The animation was blocking my controls to move forward :P

Thanks, happy you like it! =) Hey, one shall not rush the ceremony to make sacrifices to the Norse gods :)

Haha, nice reply ;)

To say that this was made in 48 hours, you did a great job. The graphics are great, the audio is great and froma chanllange point of view, it's there from the position of each platform to jumping and even avoiding the Spikes which have different timings.

Well done

Hey - that was fun to watch. Glad you liked the game and I was thrilled to see that difficulty and timing worked out and that the spike caught you at times =) This was the first play through of the game that I am aware of since I didn't have time to test through before the release deadline. Thanks again!
